Use this guide to start managed backups with WebDisk. The WebDisk panel handles purchases, billing and support requests. The backup console manages devices, policies and backup jobs. Use the addresses and organization shown in your own panel and welcome email.
After payment, your organization and limits are prepared automatically. Accepted payment does not mean that installation is ready. Wait for the service to become active and for the password setup email. Do not purchase the service again while provisioning is in progress. Use Report a problem if an error appears.
Organization names follow the format WD001 in production, WD001-T in TEST and WD001-D in DEV. These are format examples, not your credentials. Do not rename the organization or cloud tenant assigned to the service.
Check spam and email quarantine. A sent marker means that the mail server accepted the message, not that it reached your inbox. For an expired link, request a new console password link in the panel or report the problem. Never send your password in a support request.
Open WebDisk Backup console using the link in your panel or email. In Company\User, enter the exact organization\username login, for example WD001-T\wd001tu01. Older accounts may use a different username; copy your own rather than guessing. Enter the console password and an MFA code if requested. Veeam sign-in guide.
Download the Management Agent installer for your system and organization/location from the console. An installer assigned to your organization includes connection settings and connects automatically after installation. Do not use another customer's package or an unassigned generic package.
On Linux, copy the downloaded file to the protected computer and run its actual filename with administrator privileges:
sudo bash ./LinuxAgentPackages.YOUR_ORGANIZATION_LOCATION.sh
Wait until the computer appears online in the console. The Management Agent provides management; it does not create backups by itself. Linux Management Agent installation.
In Discovery → Discovered Computers → Computers, select the computer and use Install Product → Install Backup Agent if your role provides this action. Select the policy appropriate for its system and operating mode. Check installation completion. If an option or policy is unavailable, report the problem rather than installing an arbitrary version. Backup Agent installation.
Match the purchased limit to the actual backup method:
| Backup method | Required limit |
|---|---|
| Agent in PC/laptop mode | PC/laptop |
| Agent in Server mode, including Linux Server running in a VM | Server agent |
| Whole-VM backup performed by Veeam Backup & Replication | VM |
| Backups stored in the WebDisk cloud | Additional storage |
Running Linux inside a virtual machine does not turn a Server agent policy into a VM backup performed by Backup & Replication. If unsure, describe the policy and backup method to support before changing quantities.
Check the data selection, WebDisk cloud repository, storage quota, schedule and retention in the policy. Purchased and applied limits may temporarily differ during provisioning or changes. If allocation is unconfirmed, check the panel or contact support.
An installer and policy prepared for your organization normally require no manual Cloud Connect credentials. Those details are for a separate manual repository configuration, such as an agreed Backup & Replication scenario. A Cloud Connect tenant account is different from the web console login.
Start the job associated with the policy. Wait for completion and check the session result, completion time, protected data and available restore point. An agent installation status or a warning does not confirm a successful backup. For a failure, keep the session identifier and error message, then use Report a problem in WebDisk.
Select a small test file and restore it to a separate directory or separate location, using the relevant product's restore wizard. Open the recovered file and compare its contents. Do not test by overwriting production data or start a full-system recovery without an agreed plan. Record the backup and restore results; only an executed test confirms your configuration.
This guide does not certify that a backup or restore has been performed or accepted for your account.
Preview licence or storage changes in the WebDisk panel and review the quote before confirming. Billing uses the Stripe subscription: an increase may require an additional payment and a decrease may take effect next billing period. Wait for the console limits to be applied as well.
In Report a problem, include your organization, system, policy type, failed step and job identifier. Exclude passwords, private keys and activation links. Any paid support levels available in your panel describe additional assistance; purchasing support does not configure the backup itself.
